We are a group of Colwall residents who believe that local people should have more of a say about development in our village. Our aim is to create opportunities for affordable and sustainable housing by influencing the type of development in Colwall and championing projects that respect our local environment.
We have formed Colwall Community Right to Build Ltd, a not-for-profit-company. This is a requirement of the Community Right to Build legislation and provides us with access to special planning processes set out in the Localism Act 2011 Community Right to Build Act
The CIC is comprised of:
The CCRtB Board: Ten people at least half of whom must by law be residents of Colwall. The board enacts the wishes of the resident’s Steering Group.
The Steering Group is made up of local people who volunteer their time to develop ideas that will support CCRtB aims. The steering group generates proposals in consultation with CCRtB Members (people with links to the Parish of Colwall).

A long-term resident of the Hills including 34 years in Colwall, I’ve managed three arts venues, run a poetry, theatre & music agency out of our front room and, busman’s holiday-like, organised dozens of gigs in our village hall & Ale House. I sing a cappella with two bands and have a poetry gig, The Very Grimm Brothers. We have four raised beds. The courgettes win every time.
